U.S. Gas & Electric

The Challenge

U.S. Gas & Electric is an energy provider owned by VISTRA Energy. There were two primary goals with this website redesign: 

Firstly, rebranding USG&E from an outdated energy provider to one that appealed to a younger, growing audience.

Secondly, creating a template website that VISTRA Energy could use as a framework to redesign other brands to make them all feel connected to one another, yet allowed for enough flexibility to add each brand’s look-and-feel without reinventing the wheel each time.

We created blocks each site would use across the board that could easily be reskinned.

Templatizing an customer's onboarding experience

USG&E was a great example of an energy provider with multiple use-cases. Having both gas and electricity made it a great brand to start with when creating a block and template system that worked across multiple brands.

Highlighting the most important information for the user and creating a step-by-step process to avoid confusion through solution design and user-testing.

Playing with the brand’s cool color palette made for organic gradients that made the pages feel alive and cookin’.
